Hi, my name is Ryan Murillo, most roll sheets call me Philip.
I transferred to SOU from a community college in Northern California, more specifically the north Sacramento Valley where I also grew up. Ashland is quite a contrast to what I'm used to. I'm currently studying French language as well as writing. I don't necessarily have the desire to become a teacher because I want to teach these subjects, I'm becoming a teacher because I want to just teach. Had I found mathematics or biology more interesting, I feel I would not be trying to be an engineer or a any kind of scientist, I would still be trying to become an educator anyways. It's not even because I like kids, because I only "kinda" like being around young children due to the fact that I find most children are hilariously funny while the few remaining are just annoying. Regardless, I'm fascinated by the way they all learn, especially when it comes to learning language. I'd love to someday teach ESL and SL classes.
Other than that I'm a huge basketball nerd or a junkie in some regards. I'd love to couple coaching high school basketball with my teaching career.
